Stages of Assembly
How do we do it?
First of all we remove the felt and decking striping the old roof down to the existing joists. This is the ideal time to install required insulation. Depending on the size of the roof a skip may be required for the waste this will be organised by CJ Roofing.
New external grade OSB 3 18mm BBA approved boards are then fixed to the joists if the roof requires additional fall new firings can be installed this will help to eliminate ponding but as GRP roofing systems are totally seamless with no joints, glues or welds, no water will penetrate the roof. Unlike felt a GRP roof is not absorbent therefore will not hold water. Any water that does collect will soon evaporate through normal weathering.
All rainwater products are installed, including fascias, soffit's, guttering and down pipes and the edges are then trimmed with pre-formed GRP trims. The trims and joints between all boards are then sealed with a 75mm strip of the GRP system this means that the laminate is 1200gsm double the density at what would have been the weakest points of construction.

A primary base coat of polyester resin is then applied. The roof is then applied with 600gsm chop strand fibreglass matting a secondary layer of polyester resin is then applied to ensure a strong and completely watertight barrier. there is no heat needed for any of our processes so there is no risk of fire.
The system is completed in a tough protective polyester topcoat in a choice of colour, however we do recommend light grey as this helps to eliminate thermal gain. You now have a high performance roof that looks great and is covered by our 20 year guarantee.
